This unique waste management facility is a result of an exciting and revolutionary development project and was created in a collaboration between NTO and NOMI4s, as well as Linatech A/S and RobotSort ApS. It identifies and separates different types of plastic in the waste by using advanced sensors and custom-built robotic technology.
The Minister for the Environment, Espen Lunde Larsen, opened the new and completely unique robotic waste management facility at Nomi4s in Holstebro. It is the result of a MUDP development project with support from Miljøstyrelsen and Region Midtjylland, which the three companies and Nomi4S have enabled with project manager Carsten Zaar Hansen in front.
Before the ribbon to the new facility was cut, the minister spoke to the specially invited guests and stressed that he was particularly pleased with the local aspect of this ‘beacon’ project. He also talked about the importance of the technological development that is happening in Denmark as part of stronger exports, and Denmark’s leading role in waste management technology abroad. It’s a win-win that we create better waste management solutions and at the same time showcase Danish technology that can be exported, according to Espen Lund Larsen.
