We are experts in development. Not just developing new solutions, but also in our own development and relations. That is why many of us have worked at NTO for a long time, and why we are still expanding, and more people join us.

The story about NTO

At the beginning of the new century, Preben Jakobsen decided to create a new and strong player in the automation market. He had experience as co-owner of other automation companies, and a great knowledge of solid companies based in Jutland.

  • Optomatic Styringselektronik, established in 1983, owned by Harly Thomsen and his partner
  • Nordtec Automation, 1988, owned and run by Kurt Nordholt

The synergy, chemistry and the strengths of each company were a perfect match, so in 2003 the merger became a reality, and Preben, Kurt and Harly were given an equal share of ownership in Nordtec-Optomatic (now NTO). This was the beginning of a very successful company that combined a high level of production experience with the best technological knowhow.

NTO established a branch in Zealand in 2016, and the Randers based company BEC became part of the company in 2017. BEC worked with motion controls and machine controls for the metal industry and was well known for its support and quality at the right time for the right price. Again, it was a perfect match, and BEC became the Randers branch of the ever-expanding company.

Over the years the company has changed from being a traditional technical company to a technology company. That is why the company changed its strategic focus in the early 2020s toward more advanced SW and IT industry solutions.

The aim was still to work in close partnerships with both customers and partners based on the values that have been our foundation from the beginning: Curiosity – Reliability – Care.
